A 75-year-old resident of Port Angeles has been found after being listed as missing for several days, concluding a search that had prompted a state-level alert.
The Washington State Patrol Missing Person Alerts division formally ended the Silver Alert issued for the man, marking a successful outcome to the outreach efforts.
He was first identified as missing following his last confirmed sighting around 3:00 a.m. on July 3, 2026, near East 9th Street in Port Angeles, where he was observed moving in an unconfirmed direction.
The Port Angeles Police Department initiated the alert after expressing heightened concern for his safety, citing both his age and recent behavioral patterns.
Public records from the initial alert noted that the man was navigating an “escalated state of crisis” and demonstrated challenges in making sound judgments. Those factors were deemed sufficient to warrant immediate attention from responders, given the potential impact on his physical and emotional condition.
To aid in the search, authorities solicited public assistance, encouraging residents to contact 9-1-1 upon spotting him and to monitor locations he regularly visits, including the downtown core, the local Safeway, several municipal parks, and encampments where unhoused individuals reside.
State patrol officials later shared that the individual had been located within Port Angeles, though specifics about his precise location or current health status remained pending at the time of the update.
