An investigation into a missing motorcycle in Port Angeles culminated in two individuals being taken into custody at a Sequim home near South Barr Road, as reported by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived around 7:43 p.m. on September 16 following a call reporting a motorcycle stolen from the North Larch Avenue area. The caller described the theft as having occurred shortly before placing the call. Based on details gathered from several sources, investigators focused on Jacob E. Davis, 37, as the primary suspect.

Tips from multiple parties directed deputies to a residence in Sequim, where the motorcycle was located. Officials noted that a man known as “Jake” had recently delivered the bike to the property.

When officers approached the home, they heard movement inside and gathered enough evidence to establish probable cause for Davis’s arrest on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without permission. A review revealed he also faced an active felony warrant for second-degree and third-degree assault.

Given Davis’s background and the developing circumstances, the Sheriff’s Office enlisted the Peninsula Crisis Response Team. Their involvement was intended to support a safe resolution, especially considering the outstanding warrant and Davis’s prior record. Once the team arrived, Davis exited voluntarily and was taken into custody without incident.

Inside the residence, deputies encountered a second adult, Shane M. Douglas, 36, who had an active, extraditable warrant originating from Marysville. Port Angeles police negotiators engaged Douglas, who later surrendered to the crisis team alongside Davis.

The motorcycle’s owner arrived later in the evening and reclaimed the vehicle, according to the agency.

The Peninsula Crisis Response Team is a joint unit composed of personnel from the Clallam and Jefferson county sheriff’s offices, as well as the Port Angeles and Sequim police departments. Additional support came from Sequim police, the Washington State Patrol, the Port Angeles Police Department’s Crisis Negotiation Team, and a drone operator deployed during the operation.
